BEFORE The storage space under the stairs was packed full of stuff, making it extremely difficult and time consuming for the client to find anything. Additionally, some items were not protected properly given the conditions of the basement.

DURING Inspired To Organize LLC helped the client make a plan for how to use the space most effectively, and in this case, it needed some structure. The client hired a carpenter to install plywood shelves floor-to-ceiling on the left wall. Inspired To Organize LLC then helped the client sort through her belongings and determine the appropriate storage method for each. After grouping items into like categories, we gave each category a permanent home and labeled each container.

AFTER Floor-to-ceiling shelving on the left wall provides two functions. It provides valuable surface space for storage, and it creates a natural walkway to the back of the space. Placing items on these shelves in labeled plastic containers keeps them safe from the conditions and makes finding things a breeze. The client now has the tools they will need to keep this area functioning smoothly.

                                               
  

                          

BEFORE This client was very frustrated with her home office, which had documents, papers and notes scattered everywhere. Since the belongings were never assigned a home, the client would simply place items wherever she found room at the given time, making it difficult for her to find things when she needed them.

DURING Inspired To Organize LLC helped the client break up the office into different zones for each activity, an area for work and reference materials, and an area for storage. Inspired To Organize LLC also gave the client methods for managing all the paper, incorporating into the plan the cubbies she had purchased prior to the organizing session. Given these tools, the client was able to sort through all the paperwork on her own, tossing over 50% of the papers in her office, and filing the remainder in their new, assigned home.

AFTER The clear surface space and organized cubbies now create a sense of clarity and tranquility allowing the client to really focus on her work and growing her business. She no longer struggles with all the paperwork that she comes across throughout the day, because she has a strategy for managing it.

                                               
  

                           

BEFORE This closet was cramped and messy. The dresser took up too much room and it created a large surface space which was inevitably cluttered with stuff. The top shelf in the closet was inconvenient to reach, and therefore was being used ineffectively.

DURING We began the organizing process by replacing the bulky dresser with a smaller, portable drawer system. The extra room provided space to bring in a step stool allowing quick and easy access to the upper shelf. The client installed a second shelf to utilize even more space at the top of the closet, and purchased decorative baskets to contain her belongings. We then reviewed all the contents of the closet, grouped the items that would stay into categories, and returned them to their appropriate space in the closet.

AFTER The closet is now light, spacious and welcoming. The smaller drawer system really opens up the closet while maintaining some drawer space and a small surface area to put a few key items. Grouping the clothing into categories and having all the items within view allows the client to select outfits quickly and easily, saving time in the morning. And now that there is a stepstool in the closet, reaching the items on the top shelves is an easy task.
